The module provides a cath case record for angiography and cardiac procedures — the operator, the access route, the findings, and the stents and hardware used. Before an elective case is booked, and again before it goes into the lab, EloHIMS checks that the pre-procedure work-up is recorded. Emergency and primary PCI go ahead on a written waiver. After the procedure, any implant can be searched by lot, serial number or UDI to find every patient who received it. A cath case register keeps the running log, and a walk-in billing path covers unscheduled cases.

Before the lab

Two checkpoints for elective cases — and a waiver for the emergencies

The first checkpoint is the booking: an elective case is not booked without creatinine, INR and contrast-allergy status. The second is the door of the lab: no case moves to in-lab until every required check is on the case. By default all four checks are required — creatinine, coagulation, contrast allergy and fasting, which must be at least 4 hours — and the hospital can change the list in its settings.

An emergency or primary PCI cannot wait for a work-up, so it books without the checks and may go into the lab on a written waiver kept with the case. Values that call for clinical judgement — creatinine above 1.5, INR above 1.8, femoral access with INR above 1.5 — raise warnings, never blocks.

A field safety notice names a lot, a serial range or a UDI — not a patient. Because stents and hardware are captured on the cath case record, the implant lookup report in Cardiology turns that identifier into a list of every patient who received the device, with their phone number, whenever the procedure took place.

The same record drives the bill. The procedure fee posts to the patient's account once, however many times Bill is pressed, with the cardiologist on the charge — and because cath billing runs on the same engine and ledger as the rest of the hospital, the command centre shows cath-lab activity and revenue alongside every other department.
